Movies that Matter Film Festival

From March 20 to 28, 2026, Movies that Matter will celebrate its twentieth anniversary in The Hague. For twenty years, the festival has shown how film can spark conversations about human rights and social justice. During this special edition, more than ninety feature films, documentaries, and short films by passionate filmmakers from around the world will be screened.

AMN Shapes of Fear

Asian Movie Night is excited to host its first event at Filmhuis Den Haag on March 11, presenting a special double bill: The Adventure of Denchu-Kozo (1987) and One Cut of the Dead (2017).

Student Night

Short on cash? We’ve got you covered! Every Wednesday after 5 PM, students can catch a film at Filmhuis Den Haag for less than the price of a beer on Grote Markt.

Girls on Film introduce 'The Virgin Suicides'

March 6th

On March 6th, Girls on Film kicks off The Virgin Suicides with a sharp feminist introduction. This Antwerp-based collective amplifies women’s voices in cinema through monthly screenings, community, and their podcast.

Van Damascus naar Den Haag

7 maart

Dit filmprogramma brengt vijf korte films samen van Syrische makers die wonen en werken in Nederland en België. In 84 minuten ontvouwt zich een rijk en persoonlijk mozaïek van verhalen over ballingschap, herinnering, rechtvaardigheid, identiteit en verzet.

Van maandag t/m zondag is de kassa van 10.00 tot 22.00 uur open. Ons café is open van 10.00 tot 00.00 uur. Kom dus heerlijk ontbijten, een kop koffie drinken, lunchen of vegetarisch dineren. We kijken ernaar uit!
